First Steps

Ten years ago I took my first steps on my first spiritual pathway.  I was thirty-three years old, had been married for nine years and had two kids.  From the outside I was living a very normal and usual American life.  My husband and I both had good jobs, a nice home, bills were being paid on time and a little savings in the bank.  Nothing appeared to be missing, everything appeared picturesque.  Things are not always what the seem.

We knew we had a good life but something was missing. We knew we wanted to stay together but we were struggling to get along.  We grew up with church but we had rarely attended as adults (just those major occasions).  We believed in God but God was not in our marriage.  As a family we decided it was time to get back to church.  God immediately went to work on our lives, our marriage and our family.  It was not instant bliss but there was a noticeable difference.  After attending for about 7 months we made a decision to accept Jesus as our Savoir.

These were just the first steps down a new path.  There were still struggles in our days, family and marriage but now we had new tools to fill the gaps.  Our steps toward God has lead us down a path to joy, happiness, contentment and spiritual healing.  It was just the beginning and amazing things were still to come.

It all started with a decision to take that first step towards God.  As we move through God's Word, we'll see and experience God's promises and blessings.  I hope you enjoy this spiritual walk down God's glorious pathways.
